Successful people ask better questions, and as a result, they get better answers.
— Tony Robbins

In order to be successful, we need two things: intelligence and sincerity.

Intelligence is needed to understand what needs to be done and how, what is the best thing to do in any given situation and what is the optimal way to do it.

Sincerity is needed so we can do things in a way that builds trust.

That means being honest and taking into consideration other people’s needs interests and concerns, not only our own.

The story of two frogs http://conscious-manager.com/the-story-of-two-frogs.html http://conscious-manager.com/the-story-of-two-frogs.html#respond Wed, 28 Nov 2012 17:03:10 +0000 http://conscious-manager.com/?p=844

We think too small, like the frog at the bottom of the well. He thinks the sky is only as big as the top of the well. If he surfaced, he would have an entirely different view. — Mao Zedong

There is a story about two frogs. One was hopping along at the bottom of a deep rut made by a tractor.

The other frog saw him there and said, ‘Hey! What are you doing down there? It’s much better up here; there is more food.’

The first frog looked up: ‘I can’t get out.’

‘Let me help you,’ said the second frog.

‘No. Leave me alone. I’m OK. There is plenty of food down here.’

‘OK,’ said the second frog. ‘But there is much more space up here to explore and move around.’

‘I’ve got all the space I need down here.’

‘But what about meeting other frogs?’

‘They come down here sometimes, otherwise I can shout to my friends up there.’

The second frog heaved the frog equivalent of a sigh and hopped on.

The next day, he was surprised to see the first frog hopping up beside him.

‘Hey! I thought you were staying down in the rut. What happened?’

‘There was a truck coming.’

Most people wait for something extremely bad to happen in order to do something to get out of a rut. Successful people are proactive and act in advance – to prevent problems and create results.

Why people shout? http://conscious-manager.com/why-people-shout.html http://conscious-manager.com/why-people-shout.html#respond Mon, 21 May 2012 19:41:33 +0000 http://conscious-manager.com/?p=776

Laughter drives shouting away. --- Indra Devi

A saint once asked his disciples, “Why do people shout at each other when they are upset? ”
His disciples thought for a while, and one of them said, ”Because we lose our calm, and we shout for that.”
The saint replied, “Yes, but why they need to shout when the other person is just next to you? Why is it not possible to speak with a soft voice when you are angry?”
The disciples gave some creative answers which did not satisfy the saint.
Finally the saint explained to them, “When two people are angry at each other, their hearts are very distant. To cover that distance they must shout to hear each other. The angrier they are, the louder they need to become to reach across that great distance.”
Then the saint added, “When two people are in love they usually talk softly because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is small so they only need to whisper, and they become even closer to each other in love. Finally they need not even whisper, they just look at each other in silence. That’s how close two people are when they love each other.”

Space in-between! http://conscious-manager.com/space_control_self.html http://conscious-manager.com/space_control_self.html#respond Thu, 27 Oct 2011 20:04:13 +0000 http://conscious-manager.com/?p=736

“You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you.” - Brian Tracy

No one can make you feel good or bad without your approval. People can make you feel good or bad to the extent you allow them to.

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space lies our freedom to choose and an opportunity to grow.

Between what happens to us and our reaction to it there is a space. We can stop and think what would be the best way to react.

Animals have no space. They react right away.

"The way to keep yourself from making assumptions is to ask questions." Don Miguel Ruiz

Assume you’ve head a heart attack. Now live accordingly.

Assume everything you say about another, they can overhear. Now speak accordingly.

Assume that half-life of your profession is two years. Now prepare accordingly.

Assume you have a one-on-one communication with your Creator. Now live accordingly.

Dedicate Yourself To Lifelong Learning http://conscious-manager.com/dedicate-yourself-to-lifelong-learning.html http://conscious-manager.com/dedicate-yourself-to-lifelong-learning.html#respond Wed, 18 May 2011 04:08:02 +0000 http://conscious-manager.com/?p=631 lifelong learning
You have more brains, more ability, and more intelligence than you are using at the moment. You are far smarter than you can imagine. If you intelligently apply your mind to your situation, you can overcome obstacles, solve problems, and achieve goals.

Your mind is like a muscle, it only develops with use. Just as you have to strain your physical muscles to build them, you have to work your mental muscles to build your mind as well. The good news is that the more you learn, the more you can learn. Just like the more you play a sport, the better you get at the sport, training is also important and the use of supplements as Quinnova also really help with this. The more you dedicate yourself to lifelong learning, the easier and faster it is for you to learn even more.

The second key to lifelong learning is to listen to audio programs and lectures, especially in your car as you drive from place to place. The average person sits in his or her car 500 to 1000 hours per year. This is the equivalent of twelve to twenty-four 40 hour weeks, or as much as three to six months of working time.

Leaders are learners. Continuous learning is the key to success. Lifelong learning is the minimum requirement for success in your field, or in any field. Make a decision today that you are going to become a student of your service and that you are going to continue learning and becoming better in that field for the rest of your life.

There are several keys to lifelong learning.

The first key is that you get up and you read in your field for 30 to 60 minutes each day. Reading is to the mind as exercise is to the body. When you read for an hour each day, this will translate into about one book per week. One book per week will translate into about fifty books per year. Fifty books per year will translate into 500 books over the next ten years.

Since the average adult reads less than one book per year, when you begin reading one hour per day, this alone will give you an incredible edge in your field. You will become one of the smartest and most competent devotees in your service by simply reading one hour each day.

This is the equivalent to one to two full time semesters at university. Turn your car or a bus or a train into a learning machine. Turn it into a university on wheels. Never let your car motor be running without an educational audio program playing. Many people have become successful through the miracle of audio learning. This is why audio learning is often called the greatest breakthrough in education since the invention of the printing press.

A third key to lifelong learning is for you to take every course and seminar you can possibly find that can help you to be better in your life and service.

The combination of books, audio programs, and seminars will enable you to save hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars and many years of hard work in achieving the same level of success. Many people have actually become successful as the result of a single book, a single audio program, or a single seminar.

Make a decision today to become a lifelong learner. You will be amazed at the effect it has on your devotional life and service.

Wealth, Success and Love http://conscious-manager.com/wealth-success-and-love.html http://conscious-manager.com/wealth-success-and-love.html#respond Thu, 02 Dec 2010 05:55:35 +0000 http://conscious-manager.com/?p=466 What Do You Value Most, Wealth Love or Success? Choose

What Do You Value Most, Wealth Love or Success? Choose.

Story focuses on your values and making choices about what’s most important to you. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

A Stranger Is Just a Friend You Haven’t Met

A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said “Oh dear, what are you doing in my yard, can I help you, are you hungry? Please come in and have something to eat.”

“Is everyone home that lives here?” they asked. “No,” she replied. “My husband is out.”

“Then we cannot come in”, they replied.

In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened.

“Go tell them I am home and invite them in!” The woman went out and invited the men in.

“We do not go into a house together,” they replied. “Why is that?” she asked.

One of the old men explained: “His name is Wealth,” he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, “He is Success, and I am Love.” Then he added, “Now go in and discuss with everyone you live with which one of us you want in your home.”

Which Would You Choose?

The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. “How nice!!” he said. “Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!”

His wife disagreed. “My dear, why don’t we invite Success?” Their daughter jumped in with her own suggestion: “Would it not be better to invite Love in? Our home will then be filled with love!” “Let us heed her advice,” said the husband to his wife. “Let’s invite Love to be our guest.”

The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, “Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest.” Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him.

Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: “I only invited Love, why are you coming in?” The old men replied together: “If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would’ve stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!”

The moral of the story… if you have love in your life all else will follow.

4 Steps To Put Any Plan On Track http://conscious-manager.com/4-steps-to-put-any-plan-on-track.html http://conscious-manager.com/4-steps-to-put-any-plan-on-track.html#respond Fri, 29 Oct 2010 15:02:13 +0000 http://conscious-manager.com/?p=412 managingoneoneself

“How you can get what you want?” The best way to answer this question is to imagine you already have what you want!

What is it that puts any plan on track and makes it possible? There are some essential steps you must take if you want to succeed with any plan you put in mind. A plan is anything that requires control of action. It can be simple, like planning your trip, or could be complicated like setting up an Internet business. But simple or not, if you want your plan to succeed you need to take four steps:

1. Imagine the purpose.

Before you establish any plan, you need to ask yourself what you really want. It is amazing how many people who don’t know what they really want when they start something.

When you know the answer to that question, then need to ask yourself why you want what you want. This is very important as many people want something but don’t really know why they want it. In the case of the travel your answer might be that you love that place (it’s warm, quiet and you want to get away from the city). To the Internet business you might answer that you want to become your own boss and work from home.

2. Plan the formula.

Once you have found the answers to the questions above you then need to ask yourself “how you can get what you want”. The best way to answer this question is to imagine you already have what you want!

Now that might sound weird, but if you reflect about it, when you answered your first question you had some sort of image in your mind. And when you answered your second question that image must have become clearer. Now all you have to do is make the image clearer still by imagining that you already have what you want. Then you ask yourself how you got it!

In the case of the trip that should be easy. The steps to an Internet business maybe harder to see, but if you keep thinking, keep imagining you have what you want, something amazing will happen. You will start to see the steps you need to take. You will begin to see opportunities you haven’t seen before. This works for everyone who truly wants success.

3. Prepare with patience.

So many people fail to organize a plan. They have an idea and they throw themselves right in. Sometimes it works but mostly it doesn’t! You need to prepare both mentally and physically. If you are not prepared mentally the chances are you will fail physically.

Preparation also requires patience. You would like to get going immediately but sometimes you have to wait. Maybe your plan requires a lot of practice before you are ready to go. Or maybe you might have to rely on others who are not ready when you are.

4. Act upon with joy.

So, now you know what you want, why you want it and how to get it. You have prepared and practiced and you are ready to go. However if your plan involves other people, it may take time to get what you want. They may not have the same plan or the same priorities as you. This is where you have got to keep paying attention on what you want to make happen.

The way to do this is to continually imagine how great you will feel when you have got what you wanted. You must enjoy the whole “journey” to your success. Ask any successful person if they really enjoy what they do and I guarantee the answer will be yes!

One last thing, keep records of your action, they can help you when things are not going as well or as fast as you want. They can also remind you of the steps you took to get what you wanted.

Coffee…just so right http://conscious-manager.com/coffee-story.html http://conscious-manager.com/coffee-story.html#respond Fri, 15 Oct 2010 12:31:56 +0000 http://conscious-manager.com/?p=365 Life is the coffee

Life is like the coffee :-)

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. He offered his guests coffee (decaf , of course). The professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups – porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite, and told them to help themselves to the coffee. All the students had a cup of coffee in hand. The professor said, “If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves; that is the source of your problems and stress. Be assured that the cup itself, adds no quality to the coffee in most cases. The cup is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup; but you consciously went for the best cups… and then began eyeing each other’s cups. Now consider this: Life is the coffee, and the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define nor change the quality of Life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us.” God brews the coffee, not the cups……….enjoy your coffee.
